More 1930s dresses & shops to keep an eye on

Finally some good, yet time-sensitive, Ebay finds, both from a neato shop I just found called Great Lake Outfitters (tons of 30s stuff there, just search "30s") ...

VINTAGE 30s Cotton HEART Asmetrical Button Tea DRESS S

VINTAGE 30s Cotton Novelty FLORAL PRINT Wrap DRESS S

A few finds from two Etsy sellers who specialize in 1930s-40s dresses, Adeline's Attic & Wildfell Hall Vintage ...

Gorgeous blue pin-stripe dress with burgundy rick rack trim
by Adeline's Attic on Etsy

Yet another rare 1930s find from Adeline's, a navy polka dot number
She is a real 1930s collector, so stop by her shop often for fresh finds!

Here's a GREAT example of a newer dress, but still vintage, in a 1930s style:
Frilled to meet you (adorable!) 80s does 30s Dress by Wildfell Hall on Etsy (bonus! her whole shop is 20% off through 1/1/2011!)

Two perks when shopping for "30s style", as opposed to the real deal:
1. much less fragile and most likely in more wearable sizes
2. cheaper!

Another GORGEOUS and authentic 1930s era dress from Wildfell Hall, "Pink Bouquet" Silk Dress (back off ladies, Patty is VERY interested in this one!)

Lots more coming soon! Also, I promise I will devote some time to menswear next time ...

Amy Sedaris in "Hobo Clown"

I recommend Amy Sedaris' new book, Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People --->

The section entitled "The Joy of Poverty" has tons of DIY hobo costume & accessory ideas, not to mention recipes like "Poor Man's Toffee" and crafts like "tin can stilts" and "hobo fire in a can".
