Hallelujah! I'm a bum

Hello good friends and family. Welcome to our blog, A Hobo Wedding. This blog was created by Brian and I to share with you images, inspirations and information about the theme of our wedding, Depression Era hobo culture. If nothing else, it will help you to prepare your authentic Depression Era-appropriate ensemble (wink, wink).

Here's my very first Treasury on Etsy, "Hallelujah! I'm a bum". A Treasury is a collection of items for sale on Etsy curated by Etsy sellers, like myself, and is great way to promote your shop. I've been meaning to make one for a while and I finally got around to it...

My Treasury, "Hallelujah! I'm a bum", is named after a song by Harry "Haywire Mac" McClintock and includes some of my decor inspirations for my hobo-themed wedding next May. Haywire Mac was a travelin' man and had his recording heyday in the 1920s and 30s. You've surely heard his "Big Rock Candy Mountain", but here's "Hallelujah":

This song and many other authentic 1920s and 30s about hobos and train ridin' and driftin' will be played by a live jug-style band at the wedding (I just found out from Brian that the band is a gift from Jenny and Jim - joy!).

More soon!
